This stove is very rare. Besides having belonged to President Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy Reagan, it is also the epitome of mid-century estate stoves.
This is a limited-edition O’Keefe & Merritt Town & Country / Aristocrat estate stove, only produced through 1951- 1954. It is believed that only 700 to 900 of these stoves were ever manufactured.
Though this unit was well-maintained, after 60 years plus, it definitely needs to be fully restored!
Though it could be done in various porcelain finishes, I would recommend keeping it’s color, restoring it in the original White. An example of a similar stove we restored is provided below on this page. It would be equal or better.

Bernie the stove man
This is a very unique O’Keefe & Merritt antique stove. It came directly from President and Mrs. Reagan’s retirement home, located at 668 Saint Cloud in Bel Air.
It was not included in the most recent Christie’s Auction of all their memorabilia, due to its size and weight.
The upper photo shows it in place in the Reagan’s kitchen on St. Cloud. I was told by one of the staff at the Reagan Library that it was in working condition.
Regarding the type and specifications, it appears to be the following:
O’Keefe & Merritt Town & Country
- Burners: 6
- Oven(s): 2
- Broiler(s): 2
- Warming Oven: 1
- Utility Shelf: 1
- Also, known as The Aristocrat or Bel Aire.
- 57″ W x 29″ D x 57″ H
Background: Reagan’s Retirement Home
A little background on the Reagan’s 668 Saint Cloud Rd is a house in Los Angeles, CA 90077. This 7,192 square foot house sits on a 1.29 acre lot and features 3 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. This property was built in 1954.
The couple lived in the ranch-style abode from 1988, when Ronald completed his second term in office, until their deaths. Nancy died in March 2016 at the age of 94 and Ronald died at the age of 93 in June 2004. Both the 40th U.S. president and the actress-turned-first lady died in the home.
Interesting fact: The Reagan’s immediate neighbor on one side is Jerrold Perrenchio, a movie producer, who bought the large Kirkeby Estate, once the setting for the ”Beverly Hillbillies” television show. We restored the stove that came out of the Beverly Hillbillies’ mansion. (Like the one pictured on our home page).
